The '''Biju Janata Dal''' is a regional party of the [[India]]n state of [[Orissa]]. It has its roots in the rickety [[Janata Dal]], which formed several short-lived governments at [[Politics of India|the Centre]]. After splitting from Janata Dal, the BJD has participated in several ruling coalitions with the [[Bharatiya Janata Party]] both at the Centre and in Orissa. The BJD, however, was one of the main professedly secular parties of the [[National Democratic Alliance]].
